With the HomeBuddy fermenting crock it is super simple to make tasty, and healthy fermented vegetables at home. All you need is to get your favorite veggies ready, add them to the fermenting crock with some brine solution, and wait! You don’t need a lot of space and your crock will only enhance your home’s decor as it sits elegantly on your kitchen counter. You'll have your fermentation pot going with minimal mess and fuss.
The HomeBuddy fermentation crock’s extra deep water-groove will help you turn out perfect results every time. It’s a great way to add extra nutrients to every meal! This crock has been specially designed to have an airtight water seal that allows gases to escape freely while keeping outside air (and bacteria!) from getting in. Now, you can create the perfect anaerobic crock environment!
One of the most popular ways to include probiotics in your diet is with yogurt. Since vegans, people who eat a plant-based diet, and even some vegetarians don’t eat dairy, it’s not suitable. Luckily, fermented foods prepared in a ceramic fermenting crock are rich in probiotics, and can naturally add good bacteria and enzymes to your gut. This can help improve your digestive system and overall gut health! Fermenting foods help break down nutrients and makes them easier to digest than unfermented foods. Using fermentation crocks is a great way to add healthy, antioxidant-rich veggies like cabbage to more meals, especially if you don’t naturally have enough probiotics in your diet!
Not all fermenting crocks are made equal! The HomeBuddy ceramic crock is perfectly balanced and has large, comfortable handles. This ergonomic design makes it easy to pick up, move around, and store. The fermenter is made with natural, food-safe, and durable glazed ceramic. Unlike some materials used in making kitchenware, ceramic does not contain any animal products, so it’s vegan! This not only looks great but will also stand the test of time. You and your family will have the opportunity to experiment with delicious and healthy fermented vegetables and other fermented foods for many years to come with this elegant ceramic fermentation crock.
This fermentation crock set comes with an Acacia wood pounder, fermentation weights, and a recipe book! The food-safe Acacia wood pounder included in the HomeBuddy fermentation crock kit is the perfect tool to pound out those juices you need for fermenting your vegetables. It's made with high-quality, scratch-free wood. The fermentation weights included will keep your veggies underwater and out of the air. The handy recipe book packed with fermentation crock recipes will help you get going with your sauerkraut maker, and spark new ideas!
Looking for an interesting but useful wedding or bridal shower gift? Fermentation crocks are great gifts for the health-conscious home chef, vegans, vegetarians, and those following a plant-based diet, a new bride, and families of all ages. A ceramic pickling crock is sure to impress someone who has (almost) everything. If your mom, aunt, or friend still has one of those old sauerkraut crock pots, why not give her a HomeBuddy ceramic fermentation crock?
Fermenting crocks are super easy to use, and a great way to get crunchy veggies ready to be served with every meal - just what you need to get all your nutrients in!
The first step to using your crock to ferment veggies is to make sure you have all your equipment ready. This is what you need:
1. Slice, chop, or process all your veggies into even pieces and place them into a large bowl.
2. Add around 3tbs of salt to every 5lb of veggies.
3. Add enough water to cover the contents.
4. Stir and pound the mix with a wooden pounder.
5. Put everything in the HomeBuddy crock.
6. Pack the veggies down into the crock using the wooden pounder.
7. Add the weights on top, making sure the veggies are completely submerged.
8. Put the lid on your crock and store it in a warm, dark area between 2 and 6 weeks.
9. Taste your veggies every few days until your perfect flavor is achieved.
10. Once you're happy with the taste, decant the veggies into glass storage jars and keep them in the fridge to stop the fermentation.
11. Enjoy!

So far I am enjoying this purchase. The size is versatile and does not take up a lot of counter space. The quality is very good as well. Fairly easy but the instructions are lacking for beginners. I had to google to get a better understanding of fermenting veggies other than cabbage.
Great fermentation kit!
I'm on the chase for containers since we eat an eating routine weighty in matured food varieties. For one thing, the cost is directly on this one, it is truly moderate. Also, so far we have our second maturation in and none of the flavors from the first kimchi continued into our aged dill pickles. This is easy to wash and clean, is exceptionally solid, and above all doesn't hold any flavors. Much obliged to YOU!
I'm not new to the cycle of maturation. Having made brew and mead from the nectar of my honey bees. Yet, we've discovered maturing food to be another, and fun, family experience. My grandchildren assisted with the cycle and it was a superb learning experience. It's science, and my 12-year-old granddaughter did the majority of the cutting/cutting of the cabbage and my grandson delighted in, for some time, beating at it to separate the fluid. Next we'll do Kimchi, and pickling, as well. The vessel is alluring and positively made and the Acacia wood pounder is entirely helpful. This is a great family occasion.
I own many fermentation crocks from one ltr up to a pair of gallon and this 3.8 ltr. Is my favorite size. It holds a lot, I will in all probability get four heads during this and that i love the tall, rather then wide configuration, keeps everything submerged easier. It’s a significant duty solid feeling crock, very nice quality, simple to choose up handles and wide high lid. i really like the deep waterproofing well on top and that i love that the recess up beneath the rim inside, isn't a deep place for bacterium to gather and it’s abundant easier to dump out and clean then most crocks I’ve had. i really like everything concerning it and it even came with a tamper, unglazed weights and really expert recipes (which are tasty), therefore you'll be able to start right away. I completely recommend this crock, it’s awesome!
Any veggie! From sauerkraut to kombucha and kimchi, to dill pickles, and so much more. Pickled baby corn spears make a delicious side dish at barbecues, and pickled hot peppers are an excellent topping to your burger.
HomeBuddy fermentation crocks are ideal for pickling small batches as you experiment with different flavors. Elevate meals and turn your food into a hit at any dinner party!
The HomeBuddy fermentation crock is a high-quality crock, and it's super easy to use. If you're shopping for a fermentation or sauerkraut pot, try looking for stoneware crocks for pickling. A ceramic fermentation or sauerkraut crock will hold a consistent temperature for extended periods, and it’s vegan, unlike some other materials used to make crocks!
Always choose a fermenting pot with a lid so you can keep the air out and a wide opening, so it's easy to scoop out of. When selecting a crock it is best to find one with a water seal.
Water seals will keep all of the bad bacteria out while allowing gases to escape as needed. At the same time, it will keep the good bacteria in - an ideal way for people on a plant-based diet to get probiotics in!
There is no difference! Crocks for making sauerkraut have been popular for decades, and many families still use them. These days, healthier diets, and plant-based eating has made fermentation more and more popular, and cabbage is no longer the only vegetable used!
Newer fermentation crocks have been modernized to make the fermentation process more accessible and more effective. Some have water seals, added extras like weights, and most of them have lids.
Yes, you can. However, it could end up being a bit mushy. For the best results, use small pickling cucumbers; they have the fewest seeds and softest skin, and make sure you wash them thoroughly. English cucumbers also have reasonably soft skin.
Yes, you can use your crock to ferment all kinds of veggies together. Try to make sure you cut them up in the same size if you want them to have the same amount of crunch.
If you add flavorsome ingredients like chili peppers and garlic and other veggies like carrots and cabbage, it will add flavor to the other veggies. As long as you cover all of it with liquid, you can make all kinds of mixes.
